Indie-rock icons Modest Mouse make their Clearwater debut at The BayCare Sound with special guest Robber Robber ! Capable of punkish rawness, simmering atmosphere, and light-hearted pop, Modest Mouse helped shape the sound of late-’90s indie rock and proved there’s more to the Pacific Northwest underground than grunge. Coupled with frontman Isaac Brock’s sketches of small-town life, their mix of emo, folk, post-rock, and progressive rock have earned them multi-platinum status and a GRAMMY nomination. The band’s major-label debut, 2000’s sprawling The Moon and Antarctica, showed just how grandly ambitious their music could be, while 2005’s Good News for People Who Love Bad News and its smash hit Float On revealed their flair for anthemic pop singles. Modest Mouse continues to experiment, infusing arena-sized proportions into their music without sacrificing their signature idiosyncratic outlook. Having recently completed another successful run with Pixies and Cat Power, Modest Mouse continues to prove themselves to be one of the most consistent live acts today.
